Sometimes our relationship and history with our dentist isn’t satisfactory and you feel that you want a second opinion about a dental health concern. If you feel unsure and want a second opinion, it probably means that you should get one. Remember, there is no hard and fast rule about how certain procedures should be done. Because all dentists have unique backgrounds, they were trained differently and have seen different sets of dental health problems in their practice. This leads to many variations in how and what treatment should be proposed.
At Ellis General Dentistry, you will find a knowledgeable team working together to answer all of your questions and produce the ideal treatment options for you. We use state of the art equipment, digital x-rays, and advanced software to arrive at a final diagnosis.
When you call to arrange an appointment with one of our scheduling coordinators, let them know that you are concerned about a treatment recommendation from another dentist. They will arrange an examination time with one of our doctors for you.
Please bring any current radiographs and models that may have been used in making your previous diagnosis. In most instances, our doctors will need these items to be able to fully evaluate your needs and either confirm the proposed treatment or recommend an alternative course of action. If you feel uncomfortable requesting these items from your current dentist we can request them for you or we can take our own here in our office.
Once we have evaluated and advised you of your situation, you can determine if you wish to return to your current dentist, or you are always welcome to transfer to our office and join our family of patients.
